
The OASIS Travel Department invites you to join them for one of their exciting day trips.
With a variety of destinations from museums and musicals to gardens, gambling casinos and more, there is definitely a trip for you to enjoy! All day trips include deluxe transportation from the OASIS Senior Center to the destination and return. Extended trips are offered through the Travel Department and flyers are posted in the Travel office.
Come by the OASIS Senior Center and meet the Travel Department volunteers or call them at 949.718.1810 for assistance. They will be most happy to help you find the trip of your choice. Trips are sold on a first come-first sign-up basis.

Upcoming Day Trips
Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL)
Monday, February 9 $80/85
Located in Pasadena, The Jet Propulsion Laboratory, better known as
JPL, is NASA's lead center for robotic exploration of our solar system.
This is your unique opportunity for an in-depth docent-guided tour
of the Lab's activities and accomplishments as you are welcomed
to outer space! On the tour you'll learn about JPL's history and
accomplishments followed by a guided walking tour of the facility
to see the Mission Control and a laboratory. Registration closes
January 19 and a government issue photo ID is required. This tour
requires extensive walking and many stairs; However, JPL will make
accommodations as necessary, if they know in advance. Prior to the
tour, we will be stopping in Old Town Pasadena, lunch on your own.

San Diego Wild Animal Safari

Come and explore the San Diego Wild Animal Park, meandering
through their zoo and safari exhibits. The park houses over 3,000
animals representing more than 300 species. It hosts a large array
of wild and endangered animals from every continent except
Antarctica. It also includes a botanical garden with over one million
plants. Included on this visit is a safari into one of their expansive
savanna habitats to get an up-close view of a variety of birds and
mammals—including some of their newest babies! You'll travel in
the back of a covered, open-air safari truck, with an expert guide.
(Participants will not get out of the truck on this tour.) You will then
have time to explore the Wild Animal Park at your leisure and take the
African Tram or enjoy the other wildlife experiences. Lunch will be on
your own. NOTE: There may be some walking over uneven terrain.

The Getty Villa

the original site of J. Paul Getty’s Museum located in Malibu. A trip to
this visionary realm is an educational experience set in an enthralling
and awe-inspiring environment. Take in the marvelous architecture
as you explore the halls housing Greek, Roman, and Etruscan art
collections and antiquities. These works are on display in various
galleries devoted to the permanent collection, with additional
galleries for rotating exhibitions. The Villa prides itself on its jewelry
assortment and coin collection.

California Science Center

What a day of exploration! We will go directly to the IMAX theater at the
California Science Center to see SUPERHUMAN BODY 3D. "Journey
into a world of medical marvels and explore the extraordinary ways
the worlds greatest machine…the human body” The museum’s
featured exhibitions include: LIFE BEGINNINGS: Celebrating life’s
incredible ability to make more life. GAME ON!: Which highlights the
connections between science, sports, and play. DOGS!: Explore the
science behind the bond between humans and dogs. You can also
explore the KELP FOREST where algae called kelp grow as large as
trees and support a tremendous variety of life. There are many other
interesting exhibits to explore such as: Goose Bumps, Ecosystems,
Air & Space. You can also choose another IMAX lm, but you will
have to buy the ticket yourself for $14, the other lms are “Antarctica”
at 12:30 or “Blue Whales” at 11:30. Lunch is on your own whenever
you decide to have it. You can pack your own lunch or there is food
available in The Grill, and Trimana Coee and Bakery which has
other ready-to-take items. Join us for an adventurous day!

Cinecon Pop-Up Day at Old Town Music Hall
