OASIS Travel Department


The OASIS Travel Department invites you to join them for one of their exciting day trips.

With a variety of destinations from museums and musicals to gardens, gambling casinos and more, there is definitely a trip for you to enjoy! All day trips include deluxe transportation from the OASIS Senior Center to the destination and return. Extended trips are offered through the Travel Department and flyers are posted in the Travel office.

Come by the OASIS Senior Center and meet the Travel Department volunteers or call them at 949.718.1810 for assistance.  They will be most happy to help you find the trip of your choice. Trips are sold on a first come-first sign-up basis.

Upcoming Day Trips


BOWERS MUSEUM: TERRACOTTA WARRIORS, AND
MARCONI AUTOMOTIVE MUSEUM
Tuesday, September 9 $80/$85

Join us as we head to the Bowers Museum to view China's
Terracotta Warriors, considered one of the most significant
archeological finds of the 20th century. We will take a guided tour
through this temporary exhibition which includes new discoveries
in Shaanxi. Then we will have some free time to experience
Bower's permanent galleries from around the world. On our way
we will stop at the Marconi Automotive Museum, for a docent-led
tour of their extensive private collection of over 100 vehicles worth
$60 million. Lunch will be on your own in the newly renovated
Anaheim Packing House with over 30 culinary artisans available.

TRIBUTE TO THE CARPENTERS
Thursday, September 18 $130/$135

Come and enjoy a tribute to The Carpenters, "Yesterday Once
More" starring Joanne O'Brien at the Almansor Court located in
Alhambra. This musical revue will include populat hit songs such
as: We've Only Just Begun, Top of the Word, For All We Know, Close
to You, Yesterday Once More, Rainy Days and Mondays,and more!
Always a wonderful musical program with a delicious lunch and
bargain shopping. Choose your lunch selection when you sign up.

THE SPINNERS & DIONNE WARWICK
Monday, September 29 $115/$120

Join us as we travel back to the 1960s to see a tribute concert
to The Spinners and Dionne Warwick starring in “Then Came
You”. We will head north to The Grand Event Showroom in Long
Beach for a delicious Italian lunch and then be entertained by two
wonderful tribute bands. Hear great hits such as Rubberband
Man, I’ll Be Around, Games People Play, Do You Know the Way to
San Jose, Walk on By and I say a Little Prayer.

WARNER BROS. STUDIO TOUR
Thursday, October 9 $121/$126

The Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood is a guided and
walkthrough studio tour of Warner Bros. Studios, Burbank in Los
Angeles. It offers visitors the chance to glimpse behind the scenes
at one of the oldest film studios in the world. The tour includes
The “Storytellers Showcase”: An intro film and orientation provide
familiarization of the studio’s history; The Lot Tour: Takes you on
a journey to learn how a production comes to life on the big and
small screen; The Backlot Tour focuses on how TV shows and films
are created, including iconic sets, soundstages, and the overall
production process. The Lot Tour culminates at Stage 48 which
offers a look at the technology used in visual effects and sound
editing with fun interactives. Lunch will be on your own on the
Central Perks set on Stage 48.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY MUSUEM OF ART - LACMA
Thursday, October 16 $70/$75

Located on the Pacific Rim, LACMA is the largest art museum
in the western United States, with a collection of more than
150,000 objects that illuminate 6,000 years of artistic expression
across the globe. Committed to showcasing a multitude of
art histories, LACMA exhibits and interprets works of art from
new and unexpected points of view that are informed by the
region’s rich cultural heritage and diverse population. LACMA
has collections of Asian art and Latin American art, ranging from
pre-Columbian masterpieces to works by leading modern and
contemporary artists. Lunch is on your own and LACMA currently
offers limited onsite dining with daily featured food trucks on
the Smidt Welcome Plaza. Visitors are welcome to bring food
and beverages to enjoy on the plaza or on adjacent lawns in the
park. Please note that food and beverages are not permitted in
the galleries. We also encourage museum visitors to explore the
nearby restaurants on the Miracle Mile- from quick and casual
takeout to full-service sit-down experiences.

HELLO DOLLY!
Saturday, October 25 $114/$119

Put on your Sunday clothes, because Dolly is coming to the
Carpenter Center in Long Beach. Hello, Dolly! follows the larger-
than-life matchmaker Dolly Levi as she meddles in the romantic
affairs of the city's elite in turn-of-the-century New York City.
This Broadway classic is full of wit, charm, and show-stopping
dance numbers galore. With iconic songs like "Before the Parade
Passes By," "It Only Takes a Moment," and, of course, the title
song. "Hello, Dolly!" is a joyous celebration of love, life, and the
indomitable spirit of one legendary woman. Lunch on your own at
nearby restaurant prior to the 2:00pm matinee.

NORTON SIMON MUSEUM
Thursday, November 6 $75/80

With many requests, we have scheduled another wonderful
trip to the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena. The museum's
"collection of European paintings and sculpture is among the
most distinguished in North America." The museum has fabulous
are by Rembrandt, Goya, Dega, and Vuillard. It has an extensive
magnificent collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art:
Manet, Monet, and Renoir. As well, there are works from 20th
centruy artist: Picasso, Matisse, and Kandinsky. The indoor and
outdoot sculpture displays are great. Overall, the Norton Simon
is exepctional! We will stop for lunch in Pasadena where you can
decided which eatery within a short walking distance, to try. After
lunch we will bus to the museum.

RONALD REAGAN LIBRARY-AMERICAN COWBOY:
HOLLYWOOD & HISTORY
Wednesday, November 19 $135/$140

Cowboys are quintessential cultural icons and a national symbol.
They represent western ideals of strength, self-reliance, hard work,
and honesty. Cowboy myths have shaped childhood dreams and
adult identities, including those of our presidents. This exhibit will
also take a closer look at our cowboy presidents, including Ronald
Reagan, Teddy Roosevelt and Lyndon B. Johnson. You will have
plenty of time to view all of the Reagan Library exhibits, including a
full-scale replica of Reagan’s Oval Office. Also on display will be the
annual Christmas trees. You will enjoy an exclusive buffet under
the wing of Air Force One.
